Everett "Wayne" Davis's Obituary

Everett “Wayne” Davis went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 2, 2026. He was born on November 18, 1944, in Hinton, Oklahoma, to parents, Myrl and Grace Davis. When he was a year old, he and his parents moved to Northwest Jones, Oklahoma. He resided there until his passing.

Wayne graduated from Jones High School in 1963, and went to the University of Central Oklahoma for two years. During his last year in college, he married Lenda Burrow on October 7, 1965. Shortly after getting married, Everett was drafted into the army the same year. He served for two years. During his service, he ranked as Specialist 5. During the time he was in Vietnam, he was a mortarman.

Wayne and Lenda were married for 61 years. They adopted William Edward (Billy) in 1973, when Billy was 2 years, 4 months old. They then had a son, Todd Wayne, in 1974, and later their daughter, Amanda Gail in 1983. He became Papa to Thomas Wayne in 2009 by his son, Todd, and daughter-in-law, Tenae.

Wayne was a machinist at Macklanburg-Duncan for 38 years until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, working on small engines, and watching his grandson play baseball and basketball.

Wayne enjoyed attending church at Jones Assembly of God with his family. He served in the church as a helper in Royal Rangers when his sons were little. He later was an usher, Sunday School teacher and superintendent.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He kept in touch with many co-workers over the years. He also stayed close friends with many high school classmates, including his best friend since the age of six, Larry Wilder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in 1995, his son, Billy.

Survivors include his wife, Lenda of the home; his son, Todd, daughter-in-law, Tenae; daughter, Amanda; grandson, Thomas; and his brother, William.

He will be remembered as a faithful husband, loving father and papa, helpful neighbor, and kind friend.

Friends may come and pay their respects 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Jones Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in the Jones I.O.O.F Cemetery. Military Honors courtesy Ft. Sill Honor Guard. Pastor Steve Todd will officiate.
