Obituary

Teresa Kathryn (Jorski) Wilson Grogg, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Harrah, Oklahoma, on May 17, 2026, at the remarkable age of 103.

Teresa was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Owen Wilson; her second husband, William (Bill) Charles Grogg; her infant daughter, Mary Ann Wilson; her son, Vernon Lee Wilson; her stepson, Michael Grogg; her parents, John Jacob and Hattie Jorski; and her siblings, Veronica Kupczynski, Anthony Frank Jorski, and Frances Meek.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Dr. Betty Jean Felber (Gerald F. Felber) and Cecilia Wilson Shenberger; her Grogg-children, Christine Howard (Todd Howard) and David Grogg; and her daughters-in-law, Maureen Grogg and Becky Grogg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian Scott Wilson, Jason Lee Wilson, Eric Howard, Emilye Bryan, Patrick Grogg, Chapman Grogg, Sterling Grogg, and Christopher Rupard; fifteen great-grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Mitchell of Nicoma Park; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, her long-time employees; Delia Nolan Topper and Judy Beasley, and dear friends.

Born on July 27, 1922, on a farm northeast of Harrah, OK, Teresa was the daughter of John Jacob Jorski and Hattie “Jawidga” Josephine (Kusek) Jorski. While attending White Rock High School, she played on the girls’ basketball team, graduating with the Class of 1941.

After graduation, she worked at a local cafe before moving to Oklahoma City, where she was employed by the Episcopalian Bishop. While at the historic Anna Maude’s Café in The City, she met her first love, Cecil Owen Wilson. They married on February 13, 1943, at St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral in Oklahoma City. Soon after, Teresa contributed to the war effort at Tinker Air Force Base, working on hydraulics for military bombers. In 1946, she, Cecil, and their children, Betty and Vernon, moved to Guymon, OK, where Wilson’s Jewelry was established. In 1954, their youngest daughter, Cecilia, joined the family. After Cecil’s passing in 1970, Teresa continued to run the store with Cecilia’s help. She found love again with William (Bill) Charles Grogg, whom she married in 1973. Together, Bill and Teresa managed the store until 1997, after which they retired to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Teresa was a devout Catholic who drew daily strength from praying the rosary. Alongside her deep faith, she had a vibrant zest for life. She loved attending local barn dances, dancing to polka music, and enjoyed the tunes of Bob Wills and Daniel O’Donnell, whom she listened to daily. She fancied going on cruises, playing video poker, sitting outside, and in her later years, listening to books on tape. Those who knew her well remember her evening routine of eating Rocky Road ice cream with a Chips Ahoy! cookie and snacking on Peanut M&M’s. Teresa often shared her secret to a long, fulfilling life: “Work hard and pray to the Lord.” She lived every day of her journey by those words, leaving behind a profound legacy of deep faith, dedication to family, and a delightfully sharp wit.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Teresa's long and beautiful life.
