Terrance Raymond Visnieski
November 8, 1954 – July 8, 2026
Terrance Raymond Visnieski, 71, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, formerly of Harrah, passed away on July 8, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 8, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Terrance was the son of Martin and Veronica (Rycklec) Visnieski. He was raised in Harrah, where he developed the strong work ethic, faith, and devotion to family that would define his life. He graduated from Harrah High School in 1974 and later attended electrician's school, beginning a long and respected career as a union electrician with IBEW Local 1141.
Terrance's greatest pride and joy was his family. On October 17, 1986, he married his sweetheart, Gayla Frost, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Harrah. Together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and unwavering commitment to one another. Their nearly 40 years of marriage were blessed with two sons, whom Terrance cherished and proudly watched grow into devoted husbands themselves.
Outside of work, Terrance found peace and fulfillment in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending cattle, and spending time on the land he loved. He found joy in simple moments and took pride in providing for those he loved. His strength and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Terrance was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Veronica Visnieski; his brother, Samuel Visnieski; his niece, Katrina Visnieski; and his baby nephew, Drake Freeman.
He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Gayla Visnieski; his son Cort Visnieski and wife Erin of Houston, Texas; his son Jake Visnieski and wife Casey of Meeker, Oklahoma, along with their son, Peyton; his brothers George Visnieski and wife Suzanne of Harrah, Tim Visnieski and wife Marianne of Prague, Gerald Visnieski and wife Kathy of Harrah, and Marvin Visnieski and wife Joyce of Harrah; his sister Connie Backhus and husband Mike of Salina, Kansas; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by him.
Terrance will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, loyal brother, trusted friend, and hardworking man whose life was defined by faith, family, and service to others. His love and influence will continue to live on in the lives of those he leaves behind.
Friends may pay their respects from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Asa Smith Funeral Services in Harrah. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. that evening at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Services of Harrah. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.asasmith.negt
"A life well lived leaves a legacy of love, faith, and family. Terrance's greatest accomplishment was not what he built with his hands, but the family and values he built through his life."
