Betty Jean Williams

Betty Jean Williams, age 84, of Harrah, OK, was born February 13, 1931, in Newalla, OK. She was the daughter of Julian A. & Freda (Rye) Osborn. She left this life on Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Harrah, OK. Betty was raised on a farm in Newalla. She married Cecil Sam Terrel and together they operated a grocery store in Dale until he passed away in 1953. She married Lester L. Williams on December 4, 1953, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was a very loving foster parent of 53 children. Betty was a member of the Newalla Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and loved to shop. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 2 sons, Cecil Ray Terrel, Guy Williams, 2 brothers, Edward Osborn, James Osborn, 1 sister, Birdie Lee Nall, and granddaughter, Lindsay Karnes. Survivors include her son, Benan Geylani, Del City, OK; daughter & son-in-law, Billye & Larry Karnes, Little Axe, OK; daughter-in-law, Patsy Terrel, Harrah, OK; brother-in-law, Getty & Beth Ann Williams, Newalla, OK; 5 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
