Carolyn Ruth Johnson

Carolyn Ruth (Brown) Johnson, age 78, from Harrah, Oklahoma, passed away June 14, 2025. Carolyn was born on September 26, 1946 in Meeker, Oklahoma to Malcolm and Leola Jane (Flowers) Brown. She met the love of her life, Eddie Johnson, and they were married on July 2, 1965 in Meeker, Ok. Carolyn was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Pipkin for 33 years. She was also her husband’s right-hand man, helping with any and all farming duties. Carolyn enjoyed gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking and painting. And she especially loved her grandkids, card making, outings with her Red Hat Society, and teaching her granddaughters how to cook with love.

Carolyn was kind, joyous, cheerful, Godly, sassy, witty, spunky, and stubborn. She wasn’t flashy or loud, but made an undeniable impact with her servant’s heart. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and spent decades teaching children, chairing benevolence committees and participating in many other church activities. She often expressed her true feelings with a perfectly timed eye roll.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Malcolm and Leola Jane Brown; brothers, Louis Brown, S.W. (Dub) Brown and R.J. Brown; sisters, Vada Warren, Marie Lowe, Nora Brown and Betty Loman. To cherish her precious memories, she leaves her husband Eddie, Harrah, Ok, and three daughters: April and Boone Halferty, Harrah, Ok, Tammy Manek, Harrah, Ok, Cindy Johnson and Scott Schindler, Shawnee, Ok and one sister Juanita Laughlin, Shawnee, Ok. Her grandchildren: Taryn Halferty and Melvin Rinner, Moore, Ok; Sutton Halferty and Daniel Bokemper, Oklahoma City, Ok; Holden Halferty and Shelby Milleson, Tulsa, Ok; Zack and Stephanie Manek, Harrah, Ok; Ashley Manek, Harrah, Ok and Ty Schindler, Shawnee, Ok and her beloved and only great grandchild Claire Manek. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends that loved her dearly.
