The eldest of six children, Ida spent her early years working on the family farm before graduating from Oakwood High School in 1952. The two fell in love and were married April 27, 1963. The made their home in Moore, Oklahoma, until 1985 when they moved to Harrah, where Ida lived the remainder of her life.
A lifelong sports fan, Ida especially loved baseball and could happily talk about any sport. An avid OSU supporter, she spent her younger years listening to games on the radio, a tradition that sparked a lifelong enthusiasm.
Ida’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of Hillside Baptist Church, she never hesitated to share her love for Jesus with others. Her faith was evident not only in her words, but also the way she lived.
Family was her greatest joy. She cherished every gathering and made it a priority to bring her loved ones together. Known for her hospitality and talents in the kitchen, she delighted many with her homemade bread and pecan pies. She also found peace in tending her garden and spending time outdoors
She is survived by her children, Jay (Tracy) Reid of Harrah, Carla Robison of Harrah. Her four granddaughters, Lindsay Reid, Seanna (Justin) Barnes, Hannah Robison, and Olivia Robison; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Collins and Jordy. She is also survived by her siblings: Willard (Jane) Rutz, Don (Violet) Rutz, Sam (Pat) Rutz, Carol Wheeler, Ruth Rhodes and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emzy and Anna Rutz; her beloved husband, Jay Reid Sr; her son-in-law, Danny Robison and brothers-in-law John Wheeler and Bob Rhodes.
