Lola Mae Longley

Lola Mae (Knowles) Longley went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday July 5th, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on February 29th,1932, in Hugoton, KS, the oldest of 5 children to Lonnie and Viola Knowles. She was married to Robert Longley on November 10th, 1953, in Winfield, KS.

She volunteered for multiple organizations including the PVA, Heartland Hospice, World Bible School and the Lincoln County Election Board. She also provided the surrounding hospitals with crocheted baby hats for newborns. She was an avid gardener and an excellent seamstress. She was a lifelong learner. For example, obtaining a forklift certification just because. She also enjoyed reading and did daily word searches. She loved going on adventures and her joy was contagious.

Lola Mae was preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy and Howard Knowles; parents, Lonnie Knowles and Viola Knowles Graham; her husband, Robert Longley; her daughters, Kim Whitlock and Stacey Herring, and her sons-in-law, Larry Hughes and Roy Herring. She is survived by her daughter Lorri Hughes Edge and husband Ted of McLoud and sons Sean Longley and wife Cindy of Yukon, Ky Longley and wife Laura of Edmond and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A service for Lola will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Asa Smith Funeral Service, 2039 North Tim Holt Drive, Harrah, Ok, 73045. Online condolences may be posted on www.asasmith.net.
