Louis Sherwood Hand

Louis Sherwood Hand, age 83, of Nicoma Park, OK, was born on February 19, 1931, in Arcadia, Oklahoma. He was the son of William Burton & Ora Mae (Crumm) Hand. He left this life on Monday, September 29, 2014, in McLoud, OK. Louis married Mamie Jerlene Murphy on July, 20, 1948, in Pecos, Texas. He was a truck driver for over 60 years. Louis loved horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mamie, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his 4 sons & daughters-in-law, Steve & Cheryl Hand, Yukon, OK, Tommy & Kathy Hand, Edmond, OK, Shelby Hand, Edmond, OK, Mark & Jean Ann Hand, Nicoma Park, OK; 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Debbie & Bo Leggett, Harrah, OK, Judie & Carl Buschmann, Graham, TX; 5 sisters, Pauline Fore, Artesia, NM, Letha Hopkins, Bryson, TX, Julie Shotwell, Crockett, TX, Connie Reynolds, Kingfisher, OK, June Hunter, Choctaw, OK; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Arcadia IOOF Cemetery, Arcadia, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
