Lura "Elaine" Fisher, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Elaine was born on December 4, 1942, in Shawnee, OK, to Billy Dan McKinley and Nellie Louise (Riley) McKinley. She married the love of her life, Billy Joe Fisher, Sr., on November 9, 1962. They welcomed their first son, David Anthony, in 1963, who tragically passed away as an infant. Their lives were later blessed with another son, Billy Joe Fisher, Jr., born in 1965.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Sr.; her infant son, David; and her sister, Jeanette Kirby.
She is survived by her beloved dog, Piper; her sister, Alesa Mahan, and brother-in-law, Tom Mahan, of Groton, SD; her son, Billy Joe Fisher, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Amy Fisher, of McLoud, OK; her grandchildren, Ashton and Joseph Block of Harrah, OK, Alicia and Cody Stine of Okarche, OK; and her great-grandsons, Waylon Block, Hesston Stine, and Holland Stine.
Elaine earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and spent her career teaching in McLoud Public Schools. Known for her high expectations, she was a dedicated educator who truly cared about the success and future of her students.
A gifted pianist, Elaine served as the pianist for the First United Methodist Church in McLoud for over 60 years—an enduring act of faith and devotion. She was also an exceptional seamstress, lovingly creating everything from household items to men's shirts.
Elaine will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her passion for teaching and music, and the deep love she gave to her family.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm Sunday afternoon at Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church of McLoud. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery of Shawnee.
