Lynna Ann Harper, 87, of Choctaw, died Sunday, October 19, 2025, with her family by her side. Lynna was born October 21, 1937, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Dale and Mae Neal (Jones) McSpadden. She was reared and educated in Choctaw graduating with the class of 1955. She married the love of her life, Harlis Harper on May 5, 1956, at the Nicoma Park Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Midwest City until moving to Choctaw in 1968. Lynna worked for ONG for several years before taking on the “Credit Managers” position for UNARCO Commercial Products. She retired in 2000. Lynna was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed making clothes. She loved to crochet making baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family at Lake Tenkiller. She was a master in the kitchen making many types of meals for her family and cleaning up right after a meal became a family tradition. Other than caring for her family, Lynna’s best love was for her Savior and spending time at church. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Choctaw for over 47 years. Lynna taught a Lady’s Sunday School Class for many years, tended the food pantry, counted the offering every Sunday, and helped manage the church’s Mobile Meals Ministry.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Those left to mourn her passing and cherish her memories include her daughters Karen and husband Bob Holcomb, Krista Harper all of Choctaw; siblings Carter McSpadden of Poteau, Sue and husband Gene Richardson, of Newalla, Janet Ryel of Tulsa, David and wife Karen McSpadden of Bristow, Kevin and wife Nancy McSpadden of San Angelo, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may greet the family 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Friday, October 24, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Choctaw. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
