Rosey Lee Pettett, 92, of Choctaw, passed from this life Wednesday, July 23. 2025. Rosey was born September 14, 1932, in Ringling, Oklahoma, to Walter Lee Sweeden and Lula Lillian (Morrow) Sweeden. She graduated from Quail Texas High School in 1948 at the age of 16. She married Jack Pettett in 1949. The couple came to the Midwest City area later where she began work as an item manager for Tinker AFB. Rosey was a very good basketball player in high school and later played in women’s league games in Midwest City and Oklahoma City for over 10 years. She was a long-time member of the Harrah Baptist Church and an avid great fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, in 1990, a daughter Debby Ann Hale, and grandsons Travis and James Hale.
Survivors include her daughter Vicky and husband Tommy Phillips of Choctaw; a sister Recie Frank of Yukon; grandson Devon and wife Paula Tucker; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild
Friends may greet the family 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Memory Lane Cemetery.
