RUBY EARLINE WIGGINS
Ruby Earline (Birdsong) Wiggins, 85, of Choctaw passed from this life to a reunion with friends and loved ones in Heaven on October 25, 2025, in Choctaw. She was born to Virgil Orval Birdsong and Mildred Louise Singletary Birdsong on Sept. 30, 1940, in Darwin, OK.
She received her education in Choctaw and graduated from Choctaw High School in 1958. Her husband Charles Frederick Wiggins Jr. was her childhood sweetheart, and they were married in Choctaw on June 16, 1958.They were married for 58 years. Ruby cared for him until his last days at home.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wiggins Jr; her parents Mildred and Virgil Birdsong, her brother and half-brother Jimmy and Bobby Birdsong; an aunt Dora Lee Moore of whom she was very fond, and a daughter Anita June Reiter.
Survivors include a son Jeffrey Wiggins of Choctaw and two sisters, Nancy Harvey of Choctaw and Franke Luker of Shawnee; 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.
Ruby had many friends and family who loved and respected her. She will be greatly missed.
The casket will be open Thursday 1:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m., October 30, 2025. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, at the New Life Baptist Church, 8900 South Peebly Road, Newalla, OK. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery of Harrah.
