Teresa Lynn (Straka) Fryar
July 19, 1956 – April 24, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teresa Lynn Fryar, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2025.
Teresa was born on July 19, 1956, to Doyle and Coletta Straka, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Sherri Straka. On July 22, 1977, she married the love of her life, David Fryar, and together they shared nearly 50 years of unwavering devotion and love.
She is survived by her husband David Fryar; sons Christopher Fryar and his wife Chase; Derrick Fryar and his wife Crystal; and her nine cherished grandchildren: Kaylee, Chloe, Ava, Tymber, Paisley, Kanyon, Sammy, Everlee, and Ridge. Teresa also leaves behind her siblings: Carl Straka, Roger & Stephanie Straka, and Johnnie & Cleta Fryar; Larry & Ronda Fryar; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Teresa spent many years as a dedicated teacher’s aide, quietly shaping and inspiring generations of young minds. She had a deep love for animals, especially her chickens and the many baby cows she named on the family farm. Her famous apple pie was a family treasure, lovingly made and joyfully shared.
A faithful member of the Choctaw Church of God, Teresa served her church community with a generous heart—supporting the youth group and actively involved with McLoud Ag. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a steadfast, loving, and kind woman who gave freely to anyone in need.
Though Teresa wore many hats throughout her life, the role she was most proud of was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Choctaw Church of God. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery of Harrah.
Arrangements are under the care of Asa Smith Funeral Services of Harrah. Online condolences may be made at www.asasmith.net
