Timothy Alan Flaig, 76, of Oklahoma City, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his home. Tim was born October 19, 1948, in Oklahoma City, to Englebert Bernard and Norean Eleanor (Anderson) Flaig.
Tim was a devoted father and avid history buff. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles as well as word games. He valued knowledge and education, instilling this same passion in not only his daughter, but everyone he encountered.
He dedicated 24 years in service to his country and served honorably in the United States Navy, retiring in 1992 as HMC, Chief Petty Officer.
The men he served with described him as a great leader of men, willing to do what needed to be done, even in harsh environments.
After he retired from military service, he went to work at the Oklahoma City-County Health Department, working in various roles. The one he most valued was that of Risk Manager, helping shape the agency’s safety policies. He retired a second time in 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers Donald and Dennis and a sister Margaret “Peggy” Haas.
Survivors include a daughter Shannon and husband John LaCaze of Choctaw; sister Kathryn and husband Stan Larson of Utah; his cat “Captain” and a “grand dog” “Dusty”
