Vona Lee Coker

Vona Lee Coker, age 83, of Shawnee, OK, was born February 16, 1931, in Vega, TX. She was the daughter of Charlie Joe & Mary (Blasingame) McMurphy. She left this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, in Midwest City, OK. Vona worked at Walmart for many years as a stocker and sales clerk. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK. Vona enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Coker and 2 sisters, LaVeta Cash and Angie Berry. Survivors include her 2 daughters & son-in-law, Linda & Floyd 'Kenny' Whitney, Harrah, OK, DarleneWages, Shawnee, OK; brother,Gale McMurphy, Norman, OK; 2 granddaughters,Robyn & Shane Valdez, Norman, OK, Amanda & Billy Beard, Norman, OK; 2 great-grandchildren, Madelynn & Shane Valdez and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Hillside Baptist Church, McLoud, OK, with Rev. Tuney Ropp officiating. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
